Gary K Salt
General Manager |
Gary took up his role as
West Hove GC's General Manager in January 2010 with a proven
record in golf club management,
He was first appointed as a golf club General Manager in 2000 and over the
past fifteen years has become one of the most respected managers in
Sussex. He very quickly took over the reins at West Hove and is
looking forward to a long
and enjoyable time here.
Gary is no mean golfer either, having played on and off for
over 30 years and in that time becoming a plus 2 golfer. |
Graeme Crompton
PGA Head Professional |
Graeme is a Brightonian and learnt his golf at East
Brighton GC. Within 15 months of starting he turned professional, aged 16,
and 'qualified' 4 years later.
He was quickly offered a position as a
teaching professional at Hollingbury Park GC and became their head coach
in 1993 and Head Pro' in 1997.
Graeme was appointed as the Club's
PGA Head Professional
in March 2010 and is now regarded as one of the best
teaching professionals in Sussex. |

Pauline became part of the
West Hove team in March 2004.
As the Accounts Assistant to our General Manager, Pauline is
responsible amongst other things for co-ordinating the bookings for
Golf Societies, Conferences and other functions. She is also responsible
for all corporate bookings and seminars. |

Jonny has
been a member of West Hove since 2003, as an amateur he won the club
championship three times in a row he also, won The Sussex Colts U-21
Championship in 2010.
Jonny turned professional in 2013 and competes on the UK Satellite tours.
His aim is to complete his PGA degree and continue working towards
playing golf full time on the European Tour |

Jane Edwards
Administration Assistant |
Jane joined the West Hove team
in July 2008 having previously worked as a Personnel Manager.
Along with general admin. duties, Jane is also responsible for
subscription payments, processing the men's competitions and is the
reciprocal co-ordinator for the Club.
Jane is also the Club's
wedding reception co-ordinator. |
Sam Cains
PGA Assistant Professional |
Sam turned
professional in 2005, completing his PGA training in 2009. He has
previously worked at Tilgate Forest GC, Golf at Goodwood and Mid Sussex
GC, coaching players of all abilities, from beginners to working with a
professional at European Tour Qualifying School in Spain in 2010. Sam has
been pursuing other business interests in the past couple of years, but is
now in the process of regaining his professional status. |

Karen
joined West Hove in April 2007 as a Bar Assistant and subsequently became
the Bar Supervisor.
When she joined the Club she had no golfing experience but in recent years
has been encouraged to participate through our Golf Academy. Karen has now
been well and truly bitten by the golfing bug and now plays regularly
alongside West Hove's Academy Ladies. |

Clayton Morris
Catering Manager |
Clay is well known to the
older Members having been an assistant professional with the Club over 20
years ago. He then became Head Pro' at West Chiltington GC and Seaford GC
before deciding in early 2007 to change tack and move into the catering
business.
He owns and runs the very successful sandwich bar 'The Upper Crust' in
Richardson Road, Hove and took over the catering franchise at West Hove in
January 2010. |
Graham
Marchant

Graham has been part of West Hove Golf
Club since its
relocation from Portslade in 1991 and is a warm and friendly character -
one that you will probably
never forget.
A steady golfer off of a 9 handicap, Graham rarely fails to
feature on the podium when playing in any golf tournament.

Duncan
is yet another long serving member of our team having joined us from
another local golf club in 1999.
He made an immediate impact by becoming
the SCGU �Green-keeper of the Year� in 2000.
Duncan further distinguished
himself by being the student of the year at Plumpton College in 2003
whilst on a Sports Turf Management course.
Duncan, who
is
married with two young children. heads a team of
five
excellent green-keepers - see left. |
