West Hove GC Match Shirts

The Club has today taken delivery of some new polo shirts for the specific use of West Hove GC members chosen to represent the Club in designated Club matches.

A specific Club 'match shirt' for ALL of our representative teams was first muted by Match & Handicap Chairman Martin Emery and subsequently agreed by the Golf Committee. Martin was ably assisted in this project by our Head Pro, Graeme Crompton, and the Clubs General Manager Gary Salt.

Anyone having been selected to represent the Club in a recognised team event can purchase a shirt through the General Office. The initial batch of 50 shirts will cost 20 each, but thereafter the cost will be 24.

The Club is grateful for sponsorship from "Fullers", London's last remaining traditional family brewer. Not only are they the brewers of many award-winning beers, but this month they won the prestigious title of Company of the Year at the 2012 PLC Awards.

Our shirts have been sourced by "Glenmuir", one of the most prestigious and successful golf and leisure-wear brands in the world. Their slim fit polo shirts are tailored to create a modern silhouette which is shaped through the waist to avoid excess bagging at the waistband. An improved fit around the shoulders and armholes facilitates movement through the swing. Please note that as the style of the shirt is slim fit the Club strongly recommends that you purchase a size one larger than you would normally buy.

WHGC's Snow-plough goes into action

Green-keepers clear road to the Clubhouse

It is about half a mile from the Club's entrance on the A27 Brighton-by-Pass to the Clubhouse so when snow falls, like it did today, it needs a massive effort to keep the road open.

Special thanks must therefore be extended to the Club's green-keepers who spent most of the day keeping the road clear. Indeed, the Club was able to successfully host a private function today and those who attended were especially grateful.

The Club's General Manager Gary Salt has reported that "the road is still safe to pass as long as you drive with caution".

Unfortunately, the snow and ice means that the golf course will be closed over the weekend but thanks to the continuing effort of our green-keepers THE CLUBHOUSE WILL BE OPEN.
